So it’s that time again…. The grocery shop… Whether it is daily, weekly or longer, we all inevitably have to schedule a trip to our local supermarket into our busy lifestyles. For some this is a welcome relief, a chance to ‘escape’ the kids (maybe the partner?) and have some ‘me’ time while leisurely strolling down the aisle randomly picking up items for meals. For others it’s that dreaded chore, they write a list and move through the aisles at lightning speed overtaking the ‘leisure strollers’. A “quick shops a good shop” I’ve always said!
Regardless of shopping habits I’m sure we all do the same when we get home. We load up our arms and hands with what feels like a thousand grocery bags digging into our flesh, so we only have to make one or two trips from the car boot to the kitchen bench, when in reality in should have been about ten. Here at Falcon we do not believe in the saying ‘One Size Fits All’ (or ‘Most’ as some now say!). We know that everybody is different and we all have different requirements when it comes to the size of our ovens. So that’s why we have three size widths available in our range of Falcon upright cookers; 90cm, 100cm and 110cm.
Whilst it might not sound like a lot of difference from one to the next (10cm between each size upgrade), it can certainly make a difference with your cooking experience on the hob and the amount of food you can cook at any given time. For example: the difference between a 90cm and 110cm cooker width whilst technically is 20cm overall, more importantly the spacious cooktop allows for your pots and pans to be more easily maneuvered and in some cases it even has an extra gas burner! Upon first encountering the 5x4 Hayes Lane building in all its glory, my first impression was ‘Wow’ – how did someone see potential in this tiny space (literally 5 metres deep by 4 metres wide), located down a cobblestone laneway, amongst inner city Melbourne dwellings. I guess it isn’t unusual for inner city living to be small, there are many 1 bedroom apartments dotted throughout the CBD but I can guarantee that there would be none that make such a unique statement.
